Adding a sequence with layers to an existing timeline prevents you from changing layers and stops the Viewer from updating

Steps to reproduce
 
1) Open Hiero and select Start a new project...
 
2) Open the File menu and select Import File(s)... then add an EXR sequence that has multiple layers.
 
3) Drag the sequence into the timeline and in the Viewer, switch the layer to one of the custom layers
 
4) In the Project bin select the file and drag it into the timeline again
 
5) In the Viewer, try to change the layer back to the custom layer
 
Expected behaviour
Being able to change the layer and have the Viewer update
 
Actual behaviour
The layer does not change and the Viewer freezes on the same frame
 
Workaround
Repeat the layer selection process until the layer is selected and the Viewer updates
