Current Material Shader settings do not persist after changing the viewed Material

Steps to reproduce
 
1) Drag two of the default Materials from the Shelf to the Node Graph

2) Select the first Material node, press 1 and select the Current Material Shader view (the topmost option)

3) In the Shaders palette, change the Shader's properties such as Bump Weight, Roughness etc.
 
4) Select the second Material node, press 1 and select the Current Material Shader view (the topmost option)
 
5) Check the Current Material Shader properties in the Shader palette settings
 
Expected behaviour
The Current Material Shader's properties should be the same as they were set in step 3.
 
Actual behaviour
The properties are reset to default values.
