ID 522398 - All Formats and jpeg search extensions do not show .jpg images on Linux

Problem summary
When importing images .jpg files are not shown on Linux.

Steps to reproduce
1) Download the attached .jpg image and save it in a folder of your choice.

2) Open Modo and go to the Shader Tree and select Add Layer > Image > Load > (load image)

3) Go to the folder that contains the .jpg image and notice that it doesn't appear.
 
Expected behaviour
The .jpg image should show when either All or Jpeg search extensions are selected.
 
Actual behaviour
The .jpg image does not appear.
 
Workaround
Drag and drop the .jpg image into Modo, or use the All Files search extension.

This bug has been reproduced in:
16.0v3 - CentOS 7
15.0v1 - CentOS 7 -regression
 
Unable to reproduce bug in:
16.0v3 - Windows 10, macOS 11.7
14.2v2 - CentOS 7
 
Earliest version tested
14.2v2 - This issue doesn't appear in this version and has regressed.
