Follow

Problem summary
Modo Fusion Items lose their materials when converted with Airtight Final.

Customer reported version
Modo 16.0v4

Customer reported platform
macOS 13 Ventura

Steps to reproduce
1) Open Modo and Create a Mesh Item.
2) Select the Mesh Item and go to the Fusion tab in the Toolbar Menu, then click the New Fusion button.
3) Change Mesh Mode to Airtight Final w/Parts in the Fusion tab, then select Dup & Convert to Mesh.
4) Select Create Mesh, then observe that the Fusion Item no longer retains its textures.

Expected behavior
The original Fusion Item should retain its textures after duplicating.

Actual behavior
The original Fusion Item loses its textures after duplication.

Workaround
A workaround for this behavior is to utilize Operators and Freeze Mesh Operations to achieve the expected results. To do so perform the following:

1) Press 'N' to create an empty item and select it, then in the Modo Layout open the Operator tab near the Item Viewport and select the Add Operator button.
2) Select a Merge Mesh Operator to add your Fusion Item as a Source to the Operator, then go to the Shader Tree, duplicate Shaders, and then move the duplicated copies to under Final Color Output.
3) Right click on the Mesh containing the Operator, then select Freeze Mesh Operations and Duplicate and Freeze.
4) Observe how the original Fusion Item maintains its textures.
