Problem summary
Katana freezes periodically when the hostname takes a while to resolve.

Steps to reproduce
 

  1. Connect via a VPN or Network program to a machine who's hostname resolves longer than 10 seconds
     
  2. Start Katana
 
Expected behaviour
Katana runs smoothly.
 
Actual behaviour
Katana freezes periodically.
 
Workaround
Disable the Katana Queue by setting the KQ_DISABLED environment variable:
export KQ_DISABLED=1

Unable to reproduce bug in:
Katana 3.6v5 - CentOS 7
Katana 3.6v1 - CentOS 7
 
Earliest version tested
Katana 3.6v5 - CentOS 7 - This issue doesn't appear in this version and has regressed
 
Note: Katana Queue was introduced in Katana 4.0v1.
Note: Unable to properly test on Windows so it is unknown if the issue exists on that platform.
