Problem summary
Baking has unexpected results if Whole Patch Project is on during baking

Customer reported version
Mari 5.0v4

Steps to reproduce
There are a few ways to reproduce this bug as it affects any image data being baked with any tool. The following example uses a Tiled node, an image from disk, and a Bake Point node.

  1. Set up any node with image data:

    1. Open a project, such as the Example Project.

    2. Create a Tiled node and use the Node Properties to import an image from disk.

  2. Turn on Whole Patch Project:

    1. Select the UV View.

    2. Turn on Whole Patch Project by selecting Shading > Whole Patch Project.

  3. Bake the image data:

    1. Create a Bake Point node and connect the Tiled node to it.

    2. Open the Node Properties of the Bake Point node and select Bake.

Expected behaviour
Whole Patch Project should have no impact in baking processes.

Actual behaviour
Bake Point nodes or the Bake to Paint Node Action:
  • Tiled, Paint, and UV Mask nodes - No Edge Bleed.
  • Triplanar Projection node - It makes Triplanar Projection behave as if it was UV based instead of Position based.
Export Manager - Nothing gets exported.

Workaround
Unknown.
