ID 572759 - ARRI raw read nodes loose knobs if the media is unavailable, resulting in data loss if you save the Nuke script

Follow

Problem summary
ARRI raw read nodes loose knobs if the media is unavailable, resulting in data loss if you save the Nuke script

This did not happen with older versions of the ARRI SDK, or other raw readers like the R3D reader

This seems limited to the ARRI 8.0.0. SDK

Customer reported version
nuke.14.1

Steps to reproduce

1) Open Nuke

2) Read in any ARRI footage (for Nuke versions below Nuke 15, it needs to be ARRI Alexa 35 footage), and enable Use GPU if available

3) Save the Nuke script and close the comp

4) Move the ARRI footage to another directory

5) Open the saved Nuke script, it will error saying no such knob, and the Read node will have no ARI Options:

6) Save the Nuke script

7) Move the ARRI file back to its original directory

8) Open the Nuke script, it now errors with no such knob for Sony knobs, and any values you had set for the ARI Options knobs will now be lost, in this case the Use GPU if available knob is now unchecked:

Expected behaviour
For the knobs to still be available, even if the media is offline

Actual behaviour
The knobs become unavailable, resulting in loss of data is the script is saved.
