ID 580907 - Playback performance can change unexpectedly when a Sync Session is active

Follow

Problem summary:
Playback performance can change unexpectedly when a Sync Session is active

Customer reported version:
Hiero 15.1v1

Customer reported platform:
Rocky 8

Steps to reproduce:
1) Launch Hiero and create a New Project when prompted.
2) In the Project Bin, right-click and navigate to New > New Sequence
3) Open the new Sequence in the Timeline by double-clicking it.
4) Press the Play button in the Viewer, and observe how the Playback achieves a steady 24 FPS.
5) Open the Sync Session window and Host a Sync Review.
6) Play the Sequence again, and observe how the FPS occasionally changes (GIF has been sped up for demonstration purposes):

Expected behavior:
Hosting a Sync Session should not negatively impact Playback performance.

Actual behavior:
When a Sync Session is active, the FPS during Playback can periodically change to a value above or below the desired FPS, even if no media is present or the media has been fully added to the Timeline's Playback Cache.

It has also been observed that switching between the Sync Session window and another tab in the same Pane can often cause the Playback FPS to change, and/or the Audio slider to automatically mute itself (indicating the Playback is not achieving the desired FPS):

Workaround:
No known workaround at this time.
