Steps to reproduce
 
1) Download the attached file and open it in Modo.

2) Select "Main Body" Layer in the Scenes Viewport and enable the Polygon Selection tool.

3) Select faces on the mesh in the 3D Viewport and observe the results.
 
Expected behavior
When using Polygon or Edge Select, the selected edges or faces should be highlighted.
 
Actual behavior
When using Polygon or Edge Select, the selected edges or faces are not being highlighted.
 
Workaround
Unknown.

Unable to reproduce bug in:
Modo 17.0v2 - Windows 11, macOS 11.7 Big Sur
