Problem summary:
Transformation Soft Effects with non-default knobs can change the behavior of Dissolve transitions
This issue is known to affect the Transform, Mirror, and CornerPin Soft Effects
Customer reported version:
Nuke Studio 15.2v1
Customer reported platform:
Rocky9
Steps to reproduce:
1) Launch Nuke Studio and navigate to File > Import File(s)...
2) Select some media that is at least a few frames long
3) Drag and drop this Clip from the Bin onto the Timeline
4) Shorten the beginning and end of the Track Item, so there are frame handles on either side
5) Paste a Copy of this Track Item directly after the original
6) Select both Track Items, Right-click, and navigate to Editorial > Add Transition > Dissolve. The Timeline should now look like this:
7) Create a New Track, and add a Transform Soft Effect to it via the Soft Effects menu:
8) In the Transform Soft Effect's Properties, make an adjustment to the translate, scale, rotate, skewX, or skewY knobs.
9) Observe how the Dissolve transition now fades to black instead of dissolving between the Track Items:
Expected behavior:
The presence of Transformation Soft Effects should not change the output of a transition.
Actual behavior:
When a Transformation Soft Effect with non-default knob values is on a Track above Track Items with a Dissolve transition, the Dissolve transition will behave like a "Fade Out" transition and fade to black.
Workaround:
Besides placing the Transformation Soft Effect on the Track Item instead of a separate Track, there is no known workaround at this time:
