SUMMARY
Foundry trial licenses are available as individual licenses for: Nuke family, Hiero, Mari, and Katana. This article covers how to apply for trial licenses of our products.
NOTES:
- Flix is not available as a trial license. However, you can request a demo by visiting: https://www.foundry.com/products/flix/request-demo
- Nuke Indie is not available as a trial license. Nuke Indie includes the same features you get in Nuke Studio and NukeX, with certain functional restrictions via the Nuke trial license. Further information on Nuke Indie can be found in this FAQs page: https://www.foundry.com/products/nuke-family/nuke-indie/faq
- Our Nuke family/Mari trial license will allow you to access the commercial versions of Nuke family/Mari products.
-
After two decades of 3D workflow innovation, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue Modo, following the release of 17.1. More information on this can be found here. This means that it is no longer possible to apply for a Modo trial.
If you wish to access the Non-Commercial versions of our products, you will need to apply for separate Non-Commercial entitlements using the following guides:
Q100424: How to get a Mari Non-Commercial entitlement
Q100423: How to get a Nuke Non-Commercial entitlement

1. Launch Katana and select Try Katana
2.Log in with your foundry.com account details and click Authorise Device.
3. Once activated, a Nodelocked trial license will be installed on your machine and you will then be able to Launch Katana.
If you have enjoyed using the product trial and wish to buy the software, you can learn more about the purchase options available by visiting: https://www.foundry.com/trial-and-buy
UNABLE TO OBTAIN A TRIAL
If you are trying to apply for a trial license and see the message “Sorry, your trial is not available right now!”, there will be 2 possible reasons:
1: You have already applied for a trial license.
After applying for a trial license, the license will appear on your foundry.com account at Login Licenses (excluding Katana trials). Once a trial license is added to your account, you will not need to revisit the trial page and re-apply for the license. Your trial license will need to be activated in the software using the steps in this guide: Q100585 How to activate your Individual Login license
2: Your trial license has expired.
Our trial licenses are active for 30 days from when you apply for a trial. Once the 30 days expire, you will no longer be able access the trial license.
However, you can re-apply for a new trial when a new minor version of the product is launched.
